Basketball Recap: Jagger Scott's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southern Christian over East Central Homeschool

After flying high against Varsity Opponent back in December of 2024, Southern Christian came back down to earth. The Southern Christian Patriots lost to the East Central HomeSchool Patriots on the road by a 61-46 margin on Friday. Southern Christian hasn't had much luck with East Central HomeSchool recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Southern Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jagger Scott, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds. Scott is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Cole Johnson was another key player, putting up 16 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Southern Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Knox Cooper went supernova for East Central HomeSchool, going 6 of 9 on his way to 18 points along with five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Conaway, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Southern Christian's record is now 2-2. As for East Central HomeSchool, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Central HomeSchool beat Southern Christian by a score of 65-47 on Saturday.
