Piute's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tintic Miners, sneaking past 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunderbirds have posted since September 18, 2024.

Brodee Montague made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Montague was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Piute got a big performance out of Pendleton Bowler, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Bowler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braige Beus, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

Piute now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tintic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Piute will challenge Panguitch at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tintic, they will face off against Bryce Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
