The Manor Mustangs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 51-20 loss at the hands of Churchland. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Manor in their matchups with Churchland: they've now lost six in a row.
Manor's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Davonte Brown, who picked up 118 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Kendrick Sowell, who threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns.
Manor's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. As for Churchland, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Manor will head out on the road to face off against Warhill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warhill is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Churchland, they will be playing at home against Gloucester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gloucester will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Churchland is ranked 61st).
