The West Grand Mustangs will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Sedgwick County Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on November 4th. One thing working in West Grand's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven matchups.
West Grand pushed their score all the way to 36 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 48-36 to Plateau Valley.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Blake Terryberry, who threw for 335 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt. Another player making a difference was Joe Probst, who picked up 173 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Sedgwick County faced Dayspring Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sedgwick County took down Dayspring Christian Academy 36-20 on Friday. The victory was just what Sedgwick County needed coming off of a 52-26 defeat in their prior contest.
West Grand's loss dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Sedgwick County, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
West Grand was dealt a bruising 42-6 loss at the hands of Sedgwick County in their previous meeting back in November of 2017. Can West Grand avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
