The Rankin Red Devils can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Van Horn 60-26 at home. The victory was just what Rankin needed coming off of a 63-42 loss in their prior contest.
Despite the loss, Van Horn had strong showings from Amy Garcia, who scored 6 points along with 13 rebounds and 5 steals, and Taylor Martinez, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Martinez scored a full 46.2% of Van Horn's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Rankin's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Van Horn, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Rankin will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Iraan at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Van Horn, they will be playing at home against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
