Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats last Thursday. Everything went Linn's way against New Bloomfield as they made off with a 3-0 win.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-18, 25-8.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hermann, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Bourbon on Thursday.
One reason for the win was Hermann's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-5.
Hermann's win came from a few key players Linn will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brynlee Ash, who had five digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Kealie Lane, who had nine digs.
Hermann was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Linn's record is now 20-7-3. As for Hermann, they now have a winning record of 14-13-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's contest: Linn has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Hermann struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Linn suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Hermann when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
