Omari Barnes was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Douglass pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 80-62 bruising from Lutheran West. Mays pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.7 points per game. As for Douglass, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Everything came up roses for Mays against Douglass in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 85-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mays since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
