The Aquinas Academy Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 90-82 to Serra Catholic. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Serra Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Graham out in front who scored 27 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Graham scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isiah Petty, who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 18 rebounds, and 12 assists.
Aquinas Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Serra Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.
Aquinas Academy will play host again and welcome St. Joseph, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Serra Catholic will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Greensburg Central Catholic's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
