The Righetti Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newbury Park. While losing is never fun, Righetti can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1060th, while Newbury Park is ranked 443rd).
Newbury Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blake Jones, who scored 27 points. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least 25% of Newbury Park's points. Alex Depatie was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Righetti bumped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Newbury Park, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.
Righetti and Burroughs will face off at 2:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Burroughs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. Newbury Park and Dos Pueblos will face off at 1:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
