East Limestone barely beat Scottsboro the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The East Limestone Indians put the hurt on the Scottsboro Wildcats with a sharp 8-2 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
Cade Parham made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
Parham wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chris Fitts, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI Fitts has posted since back in March of 2024. Josh Thallas was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
East Limestone has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. Scottsboro's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Limestone will face off against Glencoe at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Scottsboro, they will venture away from home to square off against Madison Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
