Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the NYOS Charter Jaguars walked away with it. They put the hurt on CenTex HomeSchool with a sharp 52-30 win on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for NYOS Charter.
It was another big night for Mark Amichia, who rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 100 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. Lucas Harman got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
NYOS Charter's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Fidel Fuentes was the leader with two sacks.
Despite the loss, CenTex HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from AJ Johnson, who rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 54 receiving yards.
NYOS Charter now has a winning record of 6-5. As for CenTex HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
NYOS Charter will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against East Texas Homeschool Sports. One thing working in East Texas Homeschool Sports' favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. CenTex HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
