The Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights's five-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southern Prep Academy 53-19 at home. The win was just what Macon-East Montgomery Academy needed coming off of a 52-26 loss in their prior match.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keagan Roney led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Omarion Wilson, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14. As for Southern Prep Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Macon-East Montgomery Academy will challenge Valiant Cross Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Valiant Cross Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for Southern Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Springwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springwood is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
