The Grand County Red Devils will head out to square off against the Duchesne Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Grand County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
Grand County took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over Hunter.
Danika Hirschfeld was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Grand County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Duchesne waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They skirted past the Rams 13-11.
The team relied heavily on Prezley Farnsworth, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Breklyn Skewes, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Grand County's record is now 16-11. As for Duchesne, their record now sits at 20-5.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Grand County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like Duchesne struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Grand County couldn't quite get it done against Duchesne in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 7-3. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
