Clairemont had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Santa Ynez Pirates on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Chieftains, who have now won six contests in a row.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Clairemont who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 24-26, 25-21, 19-25, 15-13.
