The Oak Mountain Eagles will face off against the Parkview Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Mountain will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Oak Mountain had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt American Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Eagles blew past the Patriots 12-4. The Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27, 2025 (when they won 12-1).
Austin Senick looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
At the plate, Oak Mountain let Damon McCleod and Luke Channell run wild. McCleod got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Channell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those runs were McCleod's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Vincent, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Oak Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Parkview made easy work of Lassiter on Wednesday and carried off a 10-4 win. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Grant Benefield got the start for Parkview and what a start it was: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
On the hitting side, Parkview saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was CJ Woolcock, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another was Jack Taylor, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.
The win got Parkview back to even at 2-2. As for Oak Mountain, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.
