After a string of five wins, the Somerset Academy Losee Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Legacy by a score of 66-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Somerset Academy Losee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Key Thrower, who scored 27 points. Thrower hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Akaylah Thrower was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Somerset Academy Losee's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Legacy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Somerset Academy Losee will be playing in front of their home fans against Cheyenne at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Nita Franklin and Thrower. As for Legacy, they will head out on the road to square off against Amplus Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amplus Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
