Softball Recap: Steele Has No Trouble Against Hudson

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Steele walked away with it. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Hudson Explorers on Tuesday. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Leah Sprague was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Allie Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Steele was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hudson only posted a batting average of .080.

The win made it two in a row for Steele and bumps their season record up to 19-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Hudson, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-18.

Looking ahead, Steele will take on Twinsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. Hudson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
