The East Mecklenburg Eagles struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Palisades Pumas had 1000% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. East Mecklenburg received a tough blow as they fell 44-26 to Palisades.
Despite the defeat, East Mecklenburg saw an underclassman step up: Jade Marshall scored 10 points along with 4 steals. Marshall scored a full 38.5% of East Mecklenburg's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Palisades' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Estelle Macho, who scored 10 points along with 7 steals. Another player making a difference was Tynilla Simpkins, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
East Mecklenburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Palisades, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
East Mecklenburg's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mooresville at 12:00 p.m. on November 24th. As for Palisades, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against West Charlotte at 6:00 p.m.
