If the Southwest Leadership Academy Rams were riding high off their 60-28 takedown of the Mission Heights Prep Phantoms last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Southwest Leadership Academy was dealt a 89-61 defeat at the hands of the Eagles on Friday. It was the first time this season that Southwest Leadership Academy let down their fans at home.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ayden Gonzales, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Gonzales has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Serious Sykes, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Southwest Leadership Academy's loss ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-5. As for Ridgeline Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwest Leadership Academy will face off against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ridgeline Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Adobe Mountain is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
