The Blackwell Hornets pushed their score all the way to 52 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 71-52 fall against Loraine. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (38), Blackwell still had to take the loss.
AJ Williams was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Blackwell now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Loraine, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blackwell will take on Bronte at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Loraine, they will head out on the road to face off against Trent at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trent will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Loraine is ranked 85th).
