Baseball Recap: Florien Wins Going Away Against Simpson

Florien was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Simpson on Friday. Florien was the clear victor by a 21-11 margin over Simpson. Considering the Blackcats have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Florien has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. Simpson is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Florien will welcome DeRidder at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. DeRidder will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Florien surely won't give up without a fight. As for Simpson, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Plainview. Simpson will need to watch out since Plainview has now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
