St. Pius X had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Liberty North Eagles 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Lancers sure are getting used to it with their 18th in a row dating back to last season.
St. Pius X can attribute much of their success to Harper Gass, who had six aces and three digs. Those six aces gave Gass a new career-high.
Despite the loss, Liberty North still got an impressive performance from Mackenzie Grohs, who had four digs and two aces.
