It was a good run, but The South Elgin Storm unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were outmatched by Warren Township at home and fell 51-21. While losing is never fun, South Elgin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Warren Township is ranked 15th).
South Elgin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Ishmael George, who picked up 139 receiving yards and three touchdowns. George's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Lucas Noworol was another key contributor, gaining 130 total yards.
South Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Warren Township, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-2.
South Elgin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Warren Township also has no future games currently scheduled.
