Lafayette Central Catholic extended their losing streak  to nine  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-12 in the process. They lost  25-4 to the Rensselaer Central Bombers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bombers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  15-0  last Thursday.

As for Rensselaer Central, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record  this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
On Rensselaer Central's side,  Kali Northcutt made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching three innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. Northcutt has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in five of her six plate appearances with two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Brooke Koebcke was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with six  RBI, two  triples,  and two  runs. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  Brynn Hannon was another key player,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with five  RBI, three  runs,  and two  doubles.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lafayette Central Catholic will host Twin Lakes  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 7.1  runs per game this season. As for Rensselaer Central, they will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Kankakee Valley  at 4:30  p.m.
