The South Sevier Rams will challenge the Maple Mountain Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. South Sevier is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
South Sevier blew San Juan out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday San Juan got their revenge. The Rams fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 10-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Navey Lindsay made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Halle Mckinlay, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Maple Mountain faced Salem Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Eagles lost 8-2 to the Skyhawks. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Skyhawks: they've now lost seven in a row.
McClain Carter and Izzie Groneman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Carter went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Groneman went 1-for-3 with one home run. Groneman is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

South Sevier's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Rams have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Maple Mountain, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will South Sevier continue to outrun the ball?
South Sevier beat Maple Mountain 9-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
