After flying high against Santa Teresa  last Tuesday, Valley Christian came back down to earth. The Valley Christian Warriors lost  13-3 to the Saint Francis Lancers on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Valley Christian of the  8-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in May of 2023.
 Valley Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Charileen Pauneto, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 On Saint Francis' side,  Shannon Keighran made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits (and only one walk). Keighran has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in five consecutive pitching appearances. Keighran was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-3 with three  RBI and two  doubles.
 In other batting news,  Peyton Tsao was  excellent,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Isabella Sandoval, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with two  RBI.
 Valley Christian has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record  this season. As for Saint Francis, the  win for them keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.
 While Valley Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
