It was a good run, but Brookland unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles, falling 43-23. The contest marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Greene County Tech's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Weslyn Burnside, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Burnside has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Myiah Butler, who had six points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks.

Brookland's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Greene County Tech, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Brookland will head out to challenge Pocahontas at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Greene County Tech, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-39 win against Buffalo Island Central on the 3rd.
