Hamilton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hamilton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Hamilton suffered their biggest loss since November 4, 2023 last Thursday. They took a serious blow against Prairie Heights, falling 50-13.
Meanwhile, Elkhart Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 37-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calumet Christian.
Despite their loss, Elkhart Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sydni Haviland, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Haviland continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Viront, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Elkhart Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Hamilton bumped their record down to 3-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.2 points per game. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Hamilton came up short against Elkhart Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 36-23. Can Hamilton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
