Brooke Seppi looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carly Karales was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Teagan Berkshire was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lincoln-Way Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Downers Grove South only posted an OBP of .370.
Lincoln-Way Central's victory was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Stagg, their loss dropped their record down to 3-22.
