The Kentucky Country Day Bearcats were the 38-29 winner over the Iroquois Raiders when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Kentucky Country Day suffered a rough 46-26 loss at the hands of Iroquois on Tuesday.
Iroquois found their leader in underclassman Maliyah Poindexter, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 10 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Poindexter has scored at least 25% of Iroquois' points. Another player making a difference was Fifi Munezero, who scored 8 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Kentucky Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Iroquois, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kentucky Country Day will square off against Highlands Latin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Iroquois, they will head out on the road to face off against North Hardin Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
