Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Fort Meade

Fort Meade had won two straight games and Omari Russell did his part to make it three on Thursday. Everything went the Fort Meade Miners' way against the DeSoto County Bulldogs as the Fort Meade Miners made off with a 68-43 win thanks in part to Russell, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Demarion Abrams, who posted ten points and six rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Fort Meade has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for DeSoto County, they dropped their record down to 8-15 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Meade and Excel Christian Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for DeSoto County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lemon Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
