The Shelton Chargers lost against the Covenant Knights back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Shelton took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shelton in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.
Covenant was led to victory by Dobson Beaird and Brady Shahan. Beaird scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Shahan scored 21 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Hook, who scored eight points.
Shelton has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-16 record this season. As for Covenant, their victory bumped their record up to 19-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelton is on the road again on Friday and plays the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. As for Covenant, they will face off against the Guard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
