Arapahoe is 0-1 against Hemingford since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Arapahoe Warriors will play host again and welcome the Hemingford Bobcats, where kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Arapahoe really took it to Sandhills Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-30 victory at home. With Arapahoe ahead 48-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
William Cacy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 145 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Rafe Hill, who rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Meanwhile, Hemingford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Morrill 66-0 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Hemingford just coasted through the last quarter.
Among those leading the charge was Cody Galles, who rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Zaine Feist was another key contributor, rushing for 65 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Their wins bumped Arapahoe to 7-1 and Hemingford to 5-3.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Thursday's game as the two teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Arapahoe commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 6.2 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Hemingford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Thursday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Arapahoe took a serious blow against Hemingford when the teams last played back in October of 2018, falling 60-14. Thankfully for Arapahoe, Justin Davis (who rushed for 307 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 15.4 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
