The Highland Tech Rams will head out on the road to challenge the East Gaston Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Highland Tech suffered their closest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Sugar Creek by a score of 63-60.
Elijah Sherrill put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 30 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Elijah Whitted was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, East Gaston was able to grind out a solid win over Bessemer City on Tuesday, taking the game 66-55. East Gaston pushed the score to 52-32 by the end of the third, a deficit Bessemer City cut but never quite recovered from.
Highland Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for East Gaston, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Highland Tech suffered a grim 80-54 defeat to East Gaston in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Highland Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
