Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Westfield Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 31-7 walloping at the hands of the Warhawks on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Westfield in their matchups with James Madison: they've now lost five in a row.
Dominic Knicely continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for James Madison, rushing for 149 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Knicely was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Cael Yates was another key contributor, throwing for 77 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Westfield's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for James Madison, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 12-1 record.
Westfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. James Madison will square off against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Freedom is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
