Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Huntington Park Spartans, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 55-7 loss at the hands of Venice. Huntington Park's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Huntington Park had strong showings from Noah Mancillas, who rushed for 108 yards on only ten carries, and Christopher Wooley, who rushed for 62 yards on only eight carries.
Venice was led to victory by Eric Bell and Jaiden Noel. Bell picked up 91 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Noel threw for 169 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. Kenyon Alexander got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Huntington Park now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Venice, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Huntington Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Venice will take on Crenshaw at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crenshaw has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 166 points over their last four matches.
