Rigby and Highland are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2023, but likely not for long. The Trojans will host the Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Rigby made easy work of Madison and carried off an 11-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won five in a row.

Traylee Reid made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Maggie Stowell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Samantha Bishop, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Highland faced Thunder Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Rams skirted past the Titans 11-10. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Rigby's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-13. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rigby hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rigby couldn't quite get it done against Highland when the teams last played on Wednesday as they fell 18-14. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
