Clinton Central extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 7-9-1. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Tipton Blue Devils. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Nuriah Harvey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Long, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
As for Tipton, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since May 10, 2025.
Like Clinton Central, Tipton also got a great game from a two-way player: Ella Lobeck. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits Lobeck has allowed since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Lobeck wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anya Cline, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Looking ahead, Clinton Central will face off against Tri-Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.54 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Tipton, they will take on Lebanon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.47 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of.
