The Garner Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garner will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Southeast Raleigh is ranked 102nd).
Garner's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 57-18 defeat at the hands of Cleveland. Garner was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-7.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Southeast Raleigh's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 49-34 bruising from South Garner.
Garner dropped their record down to 4-16 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Southeast Raleigh, their loss ended a 11-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6.
Garner took a serious blow against Southeast Raleigh in their previous meeting on Saturday, falling 75-31. Can Garner avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
