Baseball Game Preview: Harford Tech Cobras vs. Edgewood Rams

Harford Tech is 9-1 against Edgewood since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cobras are taking a road trip to take on the Rams at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Harford Tech has four straight victories, Edgewood has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Harford Tech came out on top against Bel Air on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Cobras walked away with a 7-3 win over the Bobcats. That's two games straight that the Cobras have won by exactly four runs.

Carter Manara spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Zach Lane was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Harford Tech is undefeated when Lane posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Aiden Sullivan, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Harford Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.6.

Meanwhile, Edgewood came up short against Havre de Grace on Friday, falling 20-4.

Harford Tech's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Edgewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Harford Tech got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Edgewood by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cobras since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
