Reed City extended the longest winning streak in Central State this week by beating Hesperia, 40-20. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Coyotes.
Keagan James was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 185 yards on 28 carries as Central Montcalm lost to Chippewa Hills. Lucas Emmons also contributed to the rushing game with 61 yards on the ground.
Steven Malloy made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Mohawks lost to the Warriors. The 6-foot-1 senior racked up 1.0 sack.
Jake Tarbell put up the best numbers through the air as Chippewa Hills beat Morley Stanwood. He finished with a total of eight completions for 120 yards and one touchdown. Tarbell's favorite target this week was Shane Travis, who caught three passes for 45 yards.
Maguire was the best wideout in the league this week as Clark Huntey's team fell to Larry Jose's team. Maguire racked up three receptions for 54 yards. Travis McCuaig helped Morley Stanwood's passing attack out by catching one ball for six yards.
The Warriors' Tarbell and Trent Karcher have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Central State in both passing and receiving yards. Tarbell has thrown for 993 yards this season, while Karcher has 34 catches for 743 yards. The Hornets' James leads the league in rushing yards with 979.
James of the Central Montcalm is only 21 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Big Rapids takes on Newaygo. At the moment, the Cardinals are in third, while the Lions are in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Big Rapids takes on Newaygo. Mitch Cumings' team has allowed 81 points this season, while Jeremy Gasper's team has given up 96.
The Cardinals led the league in scoring this week after putting up 43 points on Holton.
