The Weeping Water Indians were the 30-27 winner over the Freeman Falcons when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Weeping Water fell 42-30 to the Falcons on Friday.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella Cave, who scored a point along with nine rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Cave pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kallie Brack, who scored three points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Weeping Water's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Freeman, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weeping Water won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Palmyra is ranked 113th, while the Indians are ranked 128th). As for Freeman, they will head out on the road to challenge the Jets on Tuesday.
