The Forest Hill Falcons lost against the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Forest Hill lost to Somerset Academy - Canyons on the road by a decisive 29-14 margin.
When it comes to explaining why Forest Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Josh Herst. Despite the final result, he rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Morales, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Tristian Johnson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last six times he's played. Tayegan Briskey did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 116 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Somerset Academy - Canyons' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 5.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jadon Goldman and Dennis Dresson who racked up 5.5 sacks between them.
Forest Hill has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4.
Forest Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Somerset Academy - Canyons will head out on the road to face off against King's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. King's Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Somerset Academy - Canyons in Florida (King's Academy is ranked 106th, while Somerset Academy - Canyons is ranked 271st).
