After two games on the road, Layton is heading back home. They will take on the Farmington Phoenix at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Layton suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 60-34 defeat at the hands of Davis. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Layton in their matchups with Davis: they've now lost nine in a row.
Oakley Homer put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 12 points. That was a full 35.3% of Layton's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Katlynn Spendlove was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Farmington came up short against Weber on Friday and fell 53-42. Farmington has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Layton's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-10. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Layton beat Farmington 49-38 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Layton repeat their success, or does Farmington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
