The North East Grape Pickers came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Iroquois with a sharp 56-33 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win North East has posted against Iroquois since January 3, 2020.
Iroquois' loss came despite strong showings from Devin Brink and Orlando Brown. Brink dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Brown scored ten points along with five rebounds. Brink continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Burroughs, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.
North East's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25 points. As for Iroquois, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
North East will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 454th, while North East is ranked 210th). As for Iroquois, they will head out on the road to take on Mercyhurst Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
