The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sunlake, who took down 224th ranked Land O'Lakes, 28-21. Nathan Johnson ran for 155 yards during the win.
The Seahawks moved up to 197 from 238 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A District 6. Sunlake climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Gators 28-21.
Nate Boler was a passing and rushing force as Mitchell beat Fivay.
James Pensyl threw for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Ethan Weilant was the best wideout in the league this week as Land O'Lakes fell to Bill Browning's team. Weilant racked up 6 receptions for 71 yards. Liam Heaney helped Land O'Lakes' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 30 yards.
6-foot-6 quarterback Pensyl of Brian Wachtel's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,516. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Christian Coleman. The Fivay star has 17 catches for 491 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Falcons' Coleman goes up against the Gators' Deionte Strozier.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Springstead takes on the Mustangs. The Eagles are in second place, while Mitchell is in fourth place.
Scott Schmitz's team took down Fivay 34-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Boler ran for 206 yards and caught 1 pass for 10 yards in the win.
