The Wisner-Pilger Gators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 52-37 bruising from Clarkson/Leigh. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wisner-Pilger of the 56-43 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Wisner-Pilger had strong showings from Hannah Parker, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, and Emerson Bellar, who scored ten points along with three steals. Parker's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight.
It was another big night for Chloe Hanel, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds for Clarkson/Leigh. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hanel has scored at least a third of Clarkson/Leigh's points. Another player making a difference was Baylee Settje, who scored 12 points.
Wisner-Pilger has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Clarkson/Leigh, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wisner-Pilger will take on North Bend Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clarkson/Leigh, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Twin River at 7:30 p.m. Twin River has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
