The Bishop Moore Hornets will be home for the holidays to greet the Windermere Prep Lakers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bishop Moore comes in on three and Windermere Prep on five.
Last Saturday, everything went Bishop Moore's way against Seabreeze as Bishop Moore made off with a 59-38 victory. Given Bishop Moore's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Seabreeze is ranked 471st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Cameron Codio, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Suarez, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, even though Jones scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Windermere Prep still came out on top. Windermere Prep took down Jones 71-56.
Windermere Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Samuel Shoptaw out in front who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. That's the first time this season that Shoptaw pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brandon Bass Jr., who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Bishop Moore has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Windermere Prep, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Bishop Moore skirted past Windermere Prep 61-58 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Windermere Prep's Mason Williams, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds.
