The Knippa Crushers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Rocksprings on the road and fell 71-14. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Knippa has scored all season.
It was another big night for Cydney Newsom, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine steals for Rocksprings. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Newsom has scored all season. Ava Grooms was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Knippa's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.7 points per game. As for Rocksprings, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 28-4.
Knippa will head out on the road to challenge the Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rocksprings, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Leakey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1115th, while the Angoras are ranked 305th).
