Travelers Rest will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Carolina Academy in at 7:30 PM. Travelers Rest will be strutting in after a win while Carolina Academy will be stumbling in from a loss.
Travelers Rest had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Riverside 35-14. Travelers Rest was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, Carolina Academy had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 14-40 walloping at St. Joseph's Catholic hands. Carolina Academy were down by 6-40 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Carolina Academy's defeat took them down to 0-1 while Travelers Rest's victory pulled them up to write [team] current record. A win for Carolina Academy would reverse both their bad luck and Travelers Rest's good luck. We'll see if Carolina Academy manages to pull off that tough task or if Travelers Rest keeps their momentum going instead.
